Helen Paul was born on January 29, 1978, in Lagos, and was raised by her grandmother.

Career

Helen Paul has worked as a freelance and full-time presenter in Nigeria for a variety of media outlets. Lagos Television (LTV 8), Continental Broadcasting Service (CBS), and MNet are among them (where she currently co-presents JARA on Africa Magic).

On the radio show Wetin Dey on Radio Continental 102.3FM in Lagos, Paul made his debut as a wicked comic character. On the show, she was known as “Tatafo,” a smart kid who satirically discusses and lampoons society ills.

She has also hosted shows on TVC and Naija FM 102.7.

Paul’s debut album, Welcome Party, was released in July 2012 and features Afro-Pop songs including “Boju Boju,” “Vernacular,” “Gbedu,” “God Forbid,” an Afro RnB song called “Children of the World,” and “Use Calculator,” an enlightenment song about the HIV-AIDS crisis.
